The Northeast Mental Health Centre Board is comprised of 14 members from across the northeast including the Districts of Algoma, Cochrane, Nipissing/Timiskaming, Sudbury/Manitoulin and Parry Sound/Muskoka. Two representatives of First Nations communities are included in this membership.
The Board is responsible for the governance of the North Bay campus and the Sudbury Campus of the NEMHC which are playing a major role in the reform of Ontario's mental health services, as the sole provider of specialized mental health services across northeast Ontario. NEMHC is also partners in the construction of the North Bay Regional Health Centre, with occupancy set for 2010.
All board members are volunteers. Meetings are held every 6 weeks from September to June and alternate between Sudbury and North Bay.
