The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) includes the District Hospital and the Regional Mental Health Centre. NBRHC opened for patient care on January 30, 2011. For the first time ever in Canada, we have an acute care hospital, serving North Bay and district, and a regional specialized mental health centre, providing specialized mental health services to all of northeast Ontario, co-located on the same site.
The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is the largest mental health service
provider in northeastern Ontario. NBRHC has campuses in North Bay and Sudbury.
The North Bay campus consists of 162 adult inpatient beds while the Sudbury
campus has 12 children's mental health beds.The NBRHC is a specialized mental health centre that provides services to people throughout the region of northeast Ontario suffering from severe and persistent mental illness..
Based on a recovery philosophy of care, the NBRHC works with other service providers, patients and their families in the design and implementation of care. Programs include specialized adult mental health, senior's mental health, forensic psychiatry, outreach programs and a regional children's psychiatric service.
