The Northeast Mental Health Centre and the North Bay General Hospital officially began counting down the days until the new North Bay Regional Health Centre opens its doors to patient care.

The North Bay General Hospital (NBGH) and Northeast Mental Health Centre (NEMHC) Boards today announced the intent to amalgamate these hospitals into one new organization that will provide acute health services to North Bay and surrounding area and specialized mental health services to the region of northeast Ontario.

January 29th and 30th, 2011, are the days selected for moving patients to the new North Bay Regional Health Centre. Announced today by the Joint Executive Committee (JEC) of the project, the two-day patient move will be the culmination of a two-week relocation process moving offices, furniture and equipment from both the North Bay and District Hospital and the Northeast Mental Health Centre to the new site.
