Overview
Medical Education is an initiative of the NEMHC Human Resources Department with the primary function of coordinating continuing medical education and student placements.
Our role is to plan, develop and implement education, training, skills development and public education programs to support the implementation of NEMHC's mission statement.
Continuing Medical Education
The Northeast Mental Health Centre encourages and supports employee participation in structured learning programs and services that promote mental health and create awareness of mental illness through community education.
Medical Education is responsible for organizing education events at NEMHC including conferences, in-services, and seminars. The primary focus of the department is on conferences, which are held throughout the year and are sponsored by NEMHC's programs.
Our learning programs meet the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and are accredited for MAINPRO-M1 credits. Our events are accredited group learning activities as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
