Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapist promotes the patient's engagement in valued roles, in particular, work. With the use of standardized assessments, informal tests and interviews, the Occupational Therapist promotes awareness of a person's strengths and limitations in these roles. The OT assists the patient to then set and achieve meaningful and realistic goals. Treatment is offered both individually and in a group context. These programs use meaningful activities and discussion to meet the needs and desires of each individual. Group topics may include self-care, self-esteem, prevocational and work skills, assertiveness, volunteerism, social skills, budgeting, etc.
