Program Overview
RCPC offers specialized, interdisciplinary inpatient and outpatient services for children and adolescents requiring psychiatric assessment, consultation, and intervention, through office visits, admission, and telemedicine. The service is intended to provide specialized supports to primary physicians and children's mental health professionals and supports to secondary care district psychiatrists and pediatricians.
Eligibility
The population that all RCPC programs serve is children and adolescents under 18 years of age with known or suspected mental illness. Families are an integral part of the assessment and treatment process. Referral Process
Referrals for all RCPC services are accepted from primary and secondary care mental health agencies, family physicians, or other mental health professionals.

Geographic Area
All RCPC programs serve Northeastern Ontario from Hudson Bay and Cochrane Districts in the North and West to the Quebec border and Muskoka to the East and South.
Waiting Period
No waiting period for Form 1 admissions requiring Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit psychiatric assessment. Variable waiting periods for other referrals but typically less than three months for all services.
Language of Service
English and French for all programs and services. Translator supports though sometimes difficult to find for less spoken languages have generally been available.
Fees
There is no fee associated with the use of this service.
